Print Ear Savers From a Customizable File
If you’re familiar with vector design software, you’ll find it simple to customize one of the files we’ve provided so you can personalize a batch of Ear Savers for people on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis.
The regular full sheet design takes less than an hour to print, and a single ear saver takes less than a minute. Personalizing your Ear Savers will change the print time.
1. Download an Ear Savers design
We’ve created two designs for you: One is a full-sheet of Ear Savers, designed for efficiency. The other is just one, which could be perfect for using scrap acrylic in your collection.

2. Personalize the design in your favorite vector design software
- The cut lines are black. Don’t change them, as it could impact the performance of the Ear Savers.
- To create your own score lines, use a color other than black.
- To ensure the Ear Savers are strong enough to do their jobs, make sure that all added scores and engraves are kept away from the edges, as shown.
4. Sign in
Go to https://app.glowforge.com and sign in.
5. Place material in the bed of your Glowforge
This design works best with Medium (⅛”) Proofgrade Acrylic. Make sure the barcode is whole and visible. (If it’s not, you can select the material manually after you upload your file - just click “Unknown” at the top left of the screen and then type medium acrylic and find your color.)

6. Upload the Ear Savers File
In the Glowforge App, choose “Create” and then “Upload from File” and select the file you made.
7. Place Design on Material
Click the design and drag it to place it where you want it on your material.
8. Adjust the settings
Ignore any artwork that you don’t want to print by clicking the step and choosing Ignore.
When you’re ready, press “Print”.
When the button on your Glowforge starts blinking, press it and watch the laser go! Remove your print, peel off the protective layer, take a picture, share with your friends & tag it with #Save2MillionEars, so that more ears can be saved!
9. Print & Share!
Click on each step to adjust the settings to create the result you want. For fastest print times, we recommend setting text to score.
