Ear Savers Instructions

We’ve given you two new free designs so that you can print Ear Savers as easily as possible.

The full sheet of 77 takes less than an hour to print, and a single ear saver takes less than a minute.

1. Sign Out, then Sign In

You only need to do this once, to ensure the new designs are loaded into your Design Library. Go to, click your name in the top right corner, and click “sign out”. Then return to and sign in.

2. Place material on the bed of the Glowforge

This design was created and tested with Medium (⅛”) Proofgrade Acrylic (of any color!). Make sure the barcode is whole and visible. (If it’s not, you can select the material manually after you upload your file - just click “Unknown” at the top left of the screen, type “medium acrylic”, and find your color.)
If you’re using acrylic from another source, you can
learn more here.

3. Open your Ear Savers design

You’ll see two new files in your Library. One is a full-sheet of Ear Savers. The other is a single Ear Saver, which could be perfect for using scrap acrylic in your collection. Choose one and open it.

4. Place Design on Material

Click the design. If it’s the single Ear Saver, you may want to make copies (cmd/ctrl-C then cmd/ctrl-V) and drag them into place on your material.

5. Print

When you’re ready, press “Print”.

When the button on your Glowforge starts blinking, press it and watch the laser go! When it’s done, take a picture, share with your friends, and tag it with #Save2MillionEars to get the word out!
